The starting point
The agency mostly worked with national general contractors. These companies pit agencies against each other for every project and drive down the coefficient, which sets the hourly rate.
Campaigns launched
Competing temp agencies post their job listings with the trade, city, and worksite, which makes it easy to identify the company. We propose to be the agency they call when their current one can’t deliver.
Public contract award notices list the winning company’s name. We call them that same week, when they’re already looking for workers.
We exclude national general contractors and count the project managers at each regional company. We call them early in the morning, before they head to the job site.
What made the difference
- A company already using a temp agency knows the coefficient and the timelines: one poorly handled assignment from their usual agency is all it takes for them to call another.
- Regional companies put fewer agencies in competition than national groups: the negotiated coefficient holds better.
